Sleep Apnea And Snoring
Of all the diseases associated with physical is snoring, perhaps the most serious and must be understood is a condition called Sleep Apnea. Two of these words emblazoned in the minds and hold every snorer, and anyone who lives with or cares about the safety and health of a snorer.
The word apnea in the term sleep apnea comes from the Greek word which means no breathing. In short, literally refers to the condition in which stop breathing during sleep.
There are two types of sleep apnea:
1) Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) – the most common form of apnea occurs when throat muscles relax.
2) Central Sleep Apnea – This form of apnea occurs when the brain fails to send the right signals to the muscles that control breathing.
Sleep apnea and snoring are directly linked because during snoring, the airway collapsing trachea is constantly repeated and obstruction, the fact is that the collapse and obstruction that causes vibration that, ultimately, manifests itself as audible snoring. Obstructive sleep apnea occurs when the airway collapses continuously so that breathing stops.
Although Obstructive Sleep Apnea occurs two to three times more often in male adults ,it can also affect young or old, male or female. Even children can have sleep apnea.
certain factors that can make you more likely to get a sleep apnea:
Obesity and excess weight (leading to the enlargement of the neck and excess soft tissue trachea)
Enlarged adenoids or tonsils (the airways can become obstructed when the tonsils or adenoid too large)
Gender and age (men older are more likely to suffer from sleep apnea than women)
Drinking alcohol (calm the muscles of the throat and cause them to collapse)
Cigarette smoking (which burn the upper airway)
death due to Obstructive Sleep Apnea (and subsequent lack of breathing) is clearly very possible, there are many very serious effects, while not fatal, most definitely suffer.
if not fatal, Sleep apnea prevents oxygen is important for the body, and therefore reduced the overall level of blood oxygen and carbon dioxide rose simultaneously. This can lead to buildup of toxins that can cause heart disease, stroke and brain damage.
